Guest review by Cheri Allcock, MA Fine Art graduate 2023

Last Friday The Margate School opened its doors for ‘Enchanted Things’, the culmination of a two-year project in which seven artists on the Art Nature Society MA programme would come together to show their work as one celestial body.

The opening was lively, with us artists buzzing around relieved, jubilant and deliriously tired, while visitors moved through the show with small rocks on the ground to lead them around the artworks. A lot of our show is based on the ground and takes the audience through different spaces and heights, asking one to look up, down and around.

The Thanet Youth Network has recently published a guide for young people and the organisations that support them to find out about the wealth of opportunities, facilities and support available in the district.

Co-Relate and Margate Bookie are part of the Thanet Youth Network - a group of creative and cultural organisations across Thanet that develop projects and opportunities for young people - and feature in the new guide.

With new laws about single-use plastic coming into force in October, Plastic Free Thanet wants to help businesses to remove barriers to going plastic free, stopping the flow of plastic onto our streets and beaches.

We’re so grateful to marine conservation charity Sea-changers, for funding Plastic Free Thanet’s business engagement project to prompt behaviour change working with local businesses.
