Students at Chobham Academy, who have been working with Co-relate and Creative & Cultural Skills, have launched their infographic on the creative industries in East London.

Representatives from BT Sport, London Legacy Corporation, University of East London, New City College and Mediorite, alongside staff from Chobham Academy attended the event on Thursday 28 October at Here East.

The infographic shows the students' research findings that 48% of young people at their school are interested in working in the creative industries and that one tech company is started in London every hour, meaning lots of exciting creative employment opportunities in the capital.

Spitalfields Music Festival tickets went on sale on Monday with the highly original Schumann Street performances as a key event for the well-respected annual festival. What most people engaging with the events on social media won't know is that a group of 25 young people from East London had a hand in developing some of the ideas for promoting them.

Over summer, Co-relate had the privilege of working with London Legacy Development Corporation and creative partners across East London to run a marketing workshop for young people taking part in their Creative Opportunities Programme.

Year 10 students at Chobham Academy who have been working with Co-relate and Creative and Cultural Skills on a project to find out about the creative industries in their area will launch the results at Here East on 28 September.

The young people have visited BT Sport, worked with graphic design students from University of East London and interviewed a range of creative professionals to discover where the skills gaps are in East London's vibrant creative sector.

Not only did they find some key labour market intelligence, they built their creative skills in researching, interviewing, team work, graphic design, social media and presenting.
