This project was undertaken during my stay in Paris from January to May 2021. I set out to write a series of poems about human interactions with the River Seine. Part of this project took me to the river mouth, at Honfleur.

BODY
The Seine has seen a high body count through conflicts, suicides and accidents. Government bodies have an impact on the river and her future, as do sporting bodies and corporate bodies. As a body of water the Seine has been manipulated to serve the humans along its banks. In Paris, its natural water system interacts with the city's water and drainage system.
DISSOLVE
When walking on Ile Saint-Germain one evening early in Spring I was witness to a remarkable frog chorus. The diversity of amphibians and birds, just on the edge of Paris, was astonishing. Listen to the found poem, Field Recording - Ile Saint-Germain.
